This is a map showing the consequences of oil and gas production in Texas. It was my undergrad capstone project, and I spent an entire semester independently working on it. My map uses a bivariate choropleth to show the density of horizontal and injections wells in each county. I also included a green gradient of dots to show active groundwater contamination cases, and a red gradient to show seismicity over the past 10 years. The data was acquired by contacting the Texas Railroad Commission, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, and the United States Geological Survey. I created the map using QGIS and Photoshop.
